Geordie Brookman
Director
Geordie Brookman is the Associate Director of State Theatre
Company. Last year for State Theatre Company he directed
Ghosts, Attempts on her Life, and the touring Education
production Ruby Moon.
Since graduating from the Flinders University Drama Centre
in 2001, Geordie has directed plays around Australia and the
UK.
Credits include Baghdad Wedding (Company B), Hot
Fudge as part of Triple Threat (State Theatre Company),
Tender (nowyesnow for Griffin, Hothouse and Company B),
4.48 Psychosis (Brink Productions), Tiny Dynamite (Griffin),
Marathon, Morph, Disco Pigs and The Return (Fresh Track),
Love is Pain, Mt Ragged (Sydney Theatre Company), Reformation (Australian Fashion Week) and Immaculate
Confection (national tour).
Geordie has also been the
Assistant Director for many productions including
Snugglepot and Cuddlepie (Company B Belvoir and Windmill
Performing Arts), 12 Angry Men (APA ), The Real Thing, Holy
Day, Endgame and Life is a Dream (Sydney Theatre
Company). Past positions held include Affiliate Director at
Sydney Theatre Company and Artistic Associate at Fresh
Track Productions.
He is the co-Artistic Director of
nowyesnow and the Deputy Chair of World Interplay.
Awards include Sun Herald Award for Best Independent
Production (Tiny Dynamite) and The Advertiser Best in Fringe
Award (The Return). |
