Jo Stone

Jo Stone graduated from Flinders Drama Centre in 1995 and has worked as an Actor, Director and Choreographer for various companies in Australia and Europe. In Europe, Jo toured with Company Les Ballet C de la B in productions 9x9 and Foi, and performed with the Schaubuhne-Berlin. Since 2002, Jo collaborated with Director Paulo Castro on Stone/Castro productions, writing, directing and performing their own works internationally.

Her Australian performances include Benedict Andrews’ Information for Foreigners and Direction of dance theatre piece Blue Love. Since living back in Adelaide (2006) Jo performed Stone/Castro production B-File at La Mama Theatre in Melbourne where she was nominated as Best Outstanding Performer for the Green Room Awards 2007. Jo has created works for No Strings Attached, Dance North Townsville and AC Arts.

In 2008, Jo joined Slingsby and LadyKillers both performing the new works in 2009 and recently directed Private Lives for the Feast Festival. Jo recently received a Triennal Project Grant from Arts SA to create theatre piece Superheroes to be presented in 2010. Metro Street is Jo’s first production with the State Theatre Company
