Nancye began her career with J.C. Williamson Theatres Ltd as a chorus member in My Fair Lady. A few years later she won the title role in Sweet Charity and her acclaimed performance quickly established her as a musical theatre star. She went on to perform in many major musical productions including Chicago, Sweeney Todd, Guys & Dolls and 42nd Street. She has performed in musical productions and plays
for various theatre companies nationally. Most recently, Nancye completed a successful touring season of My Fair Lady, in the lead role of Mrs Higgins and last appeared in Adelaide in Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks. Nancye has also made a significant contribution to theatre as a choreographer and director. She regularly shares her knowledge and experience with tertiary performing arts students. Her own cabaret show, Nancye with an E, written and directed by Tony Sheldon, has played throughout Australia. Nancye is honoured to have received three Lifetime Achievement awards - from the Variety Club in 1997 and from the Green Room Awards Association in 2003 and Sydney Theatre Awards 2008.
(2006 Spirit of the Adelaide Fringe Award), and Trouble on Planet Earth (2008 BankSA Fringe Award, Ruby Award for Innovation, Adelaide Critics Circle Award for Innovation). He has been nominated for numerous awards including Helpmann Awards for Best Actor (Hamlet) and Best Supporting Actor (The Goat or Who is Sylvia?), and won an Adelaide Critcs Circle Award for Professional Individual. Cameron was a founding member of ARIA Award winning band The Audreys. Cameron is a proud member of Actors Equity. |
