POWER ARTS is a new Arts production and investment organisation. Its directive is to produce and invest intelligently with the goals of lifting the profile of the Arts in Australia, and cultivating new Australian talent.
The Power family are high profile business achievers in Australia. Mick and Denise Power established BMD in 1979, and it is today Australia’s largest privately-owned civil construction and urban development organisation.
Power Arts is an initiative driven by the experience of the Power siblings. Hayley Johnson is a graduate of WAAPA’s musical theatre course and an accomplished performer, musical director and musician. Dare Power has a background in a number of aspects of film production. Scott Power has extensive management experience and is a graduate of the MIT Sloan Fellows Program in Innovation and Global Leadership.
As industry practitioners they have a great deal of pride in the Arts talent that Australia produces, and have established Power Arts as a platform for development of those that it identifies as bright new talents. By supplying professional support and a realistic budget, Power Arts aims to be an innovative Arts organisation, assisting select people, projects and organisations in achieving domestic success.
Power Arts is currently supporting a number of high profile, established and new musical theatre productions.
